5 of My Favorite Cafes
On a weekly basis I get people asking me about spots I would recommend for brunch/lunch or breakfast. So although this isn't my ultimate brunch guide (still working on that one), here are some cafes that have breakfast/brunch that I would highly recommend.
All of these places are "cafes", so you would go up to the cashier, enter your order, find your own seat and they would bring your food out to you. Cafes are my favorite to visit, because it seems to just be easy for everyone. I also love the diversity in the menus they have.
So here are some of my favorites.
1. The Lynhall
I stinkin love this place. Truly truly love it. The amount of space they have is incredible! I love how open and inviting it is and whoever decorated it is brilliant. The brass details (always a sucker for brass details), colors and just everything speak to me. I love how you can get coffee, brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks and pretty much everything here.
2. The Bachelor Farmer Cafe
Bachelor Farmer had been a restaurant for a while, and then they opened the "cafe" a few years ago. This place holds a special place in my heart. I think it has to be my most instagrammed coffee shop in the twin cities. I have to TRY to not post about it so I wont bore you guys with the same content! I mostly come here for the coffee and pastries, but they have other food items as well. I love the tiled floors, the tiled bar, the marble counter tops, the chairs, the stools, the manila paper for the menu, the pastry case, the coffee, the vibe, LITERALLY EVERYTHINGGGG. Its one of my MOST recommended places for people to visit! So if you haven't checked this place out - you should just go now.
3. Moose and Sadies
This cafe has been around for AGES. Its one of those places that's just cool without trying to be cool. You wont find any fancy coffee drinks, or fancy food, but everything they do has such great quality to it. Its overall just a great place to grab some breakfast and hang out with your friends. OH and the pancakes. Their cornmeal pancakes are AMAZING.
4. Birchwood Cafe
This cafe I normally go to for some good food. I'm not going to lie, there is some "hippy" vibe to it, but I love it. They have GREAT quality food and good service. The birdseed bread is also amazing - totes recommend getting that if you go there! In the summertime they have a great patio, so its fun to sit outside and have some breakfast. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of pictures of this place because I normally end up getting caught up in good conversations whenever I go there.
5. Lucky Oven Bakery
So although there is "Bakery" in their name, they also have a full food/drink menu. This is a new place that opened up and I love their eclectic decor. The wall of easy bake ovens is so cute! Its what first drew me into going there. I really loved the atmosphere there and it again is just an easy place to hang out in and have some good food!
So there ya have it! 5 cafes with great food and drinks! Let me know if you've tried any of these places out and have some more recommendations for me!
